I am currently completing a BA Hospitality and Restaurant Management at the New England Culinary Institute in Montpelier, VT. The first two years of my time here at culinary school, I was enrolled in the culinary arts program, and am now switching to the hospitality side. The purpose of this blog is to document my learning and experiences in the culinary industry, as well as the occasional update on my personal life.
After deciding not to pursue a career in academia, I had a couple of years of soul-searching and decided on going to culinary school. Food was always important in my family, and they are certainly always on my mind when I am cooking. My main motivation is that I simply love food. The desire to learn cooking techniques, expand my palate, and – most of all – bring joy to people by making them delicious food were all key in this decision. More recently, I have become interested in restaurant management and all that it entails.
Outside of the kitchen, I enjoy spending time with my two cats. I am also actively involved in singing and performing with my barbershop chorus, the Barre-Tones (their website).
