Nuts Three Ways

To celebrate the season and try to work with sugar a little bit, I got bulk nuts at the local food coop. The coop is pretty awesome, by the way. Except it’s pretty expensive. But it has great products! And bulk foods, of course.

So, I did peanut brittle, almond bark, and candied walnuts. I also tried sanded hazelnuts, like we have at work, but they didn’t come out right, and now they are “just” caramel hazelnuts. Not what I tried to make, but still.

I have enjoyed so much melting chocolate, and boiling sugar. It’s fun to watch the sugar go through its various stages of “liquidity” – if that is a word.
